Jo Lankester is an accomplished printmaker from Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. Her printmaking practice involves using multi-colour plate intaglio printing, which allows her to create intricate details and layers of colour in her prints. Jo's work celebrates the natural world and its vital role in our lives while also drawing attention to the impact of climate change on our planet's ecosystem. Her prints showcase the beauty of tiny organisms and aim to encourage viewers to consider the effects of climate change on the environment subliminally. Jo has held seven solo exhibitions and received numerous awards and grants. Her work is represented in various well-known collections throughout Australia and overseas. Her Senior Exhibitions and Collections Officer job at Townsville City Galleries requires dedication to conserving artworks through preventive conservation. By doing this, she ensures that the artworks are preserved and held for generations. She spends time in nature, contrasting with the built environment where controlled conditions can impact climate change, resulting in a paradox.
